One year on from the relocation of MPCT’s Sports Academy provision we are delighted to announce that we have supported our first group of learners into employment with sports, exercise and fitness employers.
The three learners Jon Griffiths, Eoin Jefferies and MaCauley Britton were among the first learners to enrol with MPCT Sports Academy in Tonyrefail, and in doing so have achieved the feat of becoming our first learners to progress from a Traineeship programme to an Apprenticeship programme with MPCT.
During their year with the Sports Academy the learners have develop their personal, social and physical and health capabilities while studying towards industry related qualification in sports and active leisure. All three learners followed the Sports Academy Unique Progression Pathway which saw them consistently achieve high standards of performance in the centre, and engage in work-placement activities with local employers. This real-time work experience is what we at the Sports Academy believe puts our learners at an advantage when attempting to secure employment and apprenticeship opportunities.
We are delighted that our added investment in giving learners the opportunity to achieve higher level industry qualifications as added value is now bearing fruit, and enabling MPCT’s learners to move directly into employment and Apprenticeship training. Congratulations Jon, Eoin and MaCauley!
“I’m very grateful to have been given this opportunity because it has increased my knowledge of the body and how it works, it has also opened doors to employment for me. I’d recommend MPCT to anyone interested in getting a job in the sport and leisure industry” MaCauley Britton MPCT Learner
