Sports Academy raises funds with Triathlon

7th March 2016 Ryan James

The Sports Academy learners stepped up their fundraising efforts recently with a sponsored Triathlon at Tonyrefail Leisure Centre. The Triathlon took on a topical Six Nations theme with learners covering the distance from the newly named Principality Stadium in Cardiff to the home of English Rugby in Twickenham, London.

Working in teams the learners took it in turns to run, row and cycle a combined distance of 160 miles over a 4 hour period. The effort required the learners to carry out both a physically and mentally challenging event in order to gain sponsorship from friends and family, while bucket collections were also carried out on the day.

Special praise has to go to Liam Davies who through personal sponsorship alone raised £100 for the Motivation & Learning Trust. Liam did this through sponsorship from friends, family, work colleagues and customers at his workplace.

Well Done Liam.
