London military students support England’s FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Slovakia
31st August 2017
30 lucky students from the Military Preparation College London will be attending the England vs Slovakia FIFA World Cup Qualifying game on Monday 4thSeptember to assist with the pitch banner parade before the game kicks off.
The teenagers will spend the whole day at Wembley Stadium to prepare for the parade with rehearsals running throughout the day. The students will also have the opportunity to visit the fan zone and tour the stadium. For all of those taking part it is a dream come true.
This is the second match at Wembley Stadium that MPC London has assisted with. The students from the College conducted a flag parade at the stadium for the Charity Shield Arsenal vs Chelsea match and impressed the Event 360 team so much that they have been asked back and will continue to support for future events. The 30 MPC students will be accompanied by 30 regular service personnel for the banner parade.
Tom Nicoll, Centre Manager at MPC London, is developing the alliance between Wembley Stadium and the College. The partnership between Wembley Stadium and the Military Preparation College is set to continue which is great news for the students as they love having the opportunity to represent the College and watch their footballing heroes at such an impressive and world-renowned stadium. Tom comments:
“MPC London has been given a fantastic opportunity and huge responsibility to be part of the flag parade before England’s World Cup Qualifier. This will be an incredible experience for all the students who will be required to execute a detailed plan under a lot of pressure. The experience will give my students the pride of wearing MPCT uniform in front of such a large audience and the memory of such a prestigious event.”
The students at the College are quite rightly very excited about the opportunity to attend the game. Student Goodwill said:
“I am so excited to have been given this great opportunity. I can’t believe I will be walking out onto the pitch in front of the massive crowd. I am nervous but I know my friends from the College will be there with me.”
The banner parade is due to start at 1930hrs on Monday night and the matched will be aired on ITV so tune in to check out MPC London students supporting the event.
