MPCT’s Military Preparation Short Course For Adults
Our responsive Military Preparation Course aims to support unemployed, part-time, or low-income fully employed adults with preparation for military employment*. Most learners will complete the course in a four-week period when completing a minimum of 18 hours per week between Monday to Friday. However, the course offers a flexible approach, and will be structured around your existing work patterns and personal commitments. During the course, you will take part in group workshops and fitness sessions and receive individual support sessions and assessments.
The course is delivered at both our Birmingham city centre and Teeside colleges, led by tutors who themselves have a wealth of military experience, helping you to develop a rich understanding of the range of employment opportunities available across the UK Armed Forces and to be fully supported in your application process for military service. If you are already in the military application process, will receive personal mentoring support to maintain the pace of your recruitment and selection journey.
Through structured workshops, individual fitness plans and fitness assessments, you will see your confidence improve and develop your self-efficacy, physical fitness, health and wellbeing. Wider employability skills, such as teamwork, public speaking, and presentation skills will also be advanced throughout the course.
On successful completion, you will gain a Level 2 Award in Preparation for Military Service, a Level 2 Award in Employability, and be formally introduced to and paired with a professional Armed Forces recruiter.
*Subject to meeting eligibility criteria – our Learner Support Team will be in touch to guide you through all the information you need.
