Learners from MPCT Sunderland had an incredible opportunity this week as they visited HMS Somerset, currently alongside at North Shields. The visit gave them a first-hand look at life aboard a Type 23 Royal Navy frigate, providing a unique insight into the operational roles, discipline, and teamwork required in a military environment.

During the visit, learners explored the ship, met Royal Navy personnel, and gained valuable knowledge about the day-to-day duties of those serving at sea. The experience was informative and inspirational, reinforcing the values of commitment, resilience, and teamwork that are central to their training at MPCT.

For those considering a career in the Royal Navy, this visit was a fantastic opportunity to immerse themselves in naval life, ask questions, and learn more about the different roles available within the service. It was an unforgettable experience that will no doubt have motivated and encouraged our learners as they continue their journey toward future careers in the military and beyond.
A huge thank you to HMS Somerset’s crew for their hospitality and for providing such an insightful experience! ππ’
