South-Wales Inter-College Race has a new winner…

The sun was beating down on Newport on Friday 27th July, the day of our South Wales Inter-College Cross Country Competition. Military Preparation College Newport hosted the event at the Raglan Barracks, and set out a shortened 4 mile course due to the hot weather conditions.

MPC Bridgend were the ones to beat, having won the event for the past 2 years in a row, and the motivation and competitiveness between the colleges was clear to see.

During the race, the encouragement and motivation from instructors and fellow learners alike was excellent and uplifting to experience, with some fellow learners really carrying their struggling friends over the line through their words of support.

As the last learners crossed the finish line, the suspense further endured as the time were collected in and the winners were announced.

MPC Swansea stole a stunning victory and are our new champions! They had been seen to be training exceedingly hard for this event, and were thoroughly deserving of their title.

A special mention goes to Mollie Reardon who got the fastest female time from MPC Swansea, and Josh Green who obtained fastest male.

Congratulations and well done to all learners involved- your fitness and determination was inspiring. Keep up the excellent work!
