Men still make up 88% of the Armed Forces. There are a huge variety of roles in the Armed Forces, all of which are open to women, where you can expect equal pay, equal opportunities, and equal expectations. Develop confidence, travel the world, and enjoy sport and fitness in a career full of variety and opportunities.
MPCT’s academies are designed to give young people the experience of learning in a real-life military environment. The MPCT curriculum has been designed to develop their physical fitness, essential skills and self-confidence to ensure their success in their futures in the Armed Forces. Training like this, day in and day out is what might allow women to succeed in the Armed Forces.
All MPCT’s instructors are ex-Armed Forces personnel with years of military experience. Young people will gain many useful military skills, knowledge and fitness which will prepare the learner for each stage of their military application.
Don’t just take our word for it, Emily and Seren are current learners at our MPCT Cardiff Academy…
“At school, my dyslexia diagnosis was missed and it led to me having a pretty miserable time, working extremely hard to try and be entered for higher level exams. Eventually, my mum took drastic measures and decided to home-school me. When covid hit, my mum was pulled in different directions as she tried to keep her business afloat. I failed English and Science. Not knowing what to do with my life once I’d finished school, I enrolled on a hairdressing course that wasn’t the right fit for me. By the end, my confidence had been knocked a bit and it wasn’t easy to think about the future.
Eventually, I found out about this college and it was a bit of a lightbulb moment. I think the way I’m learning plays to my strengths…I’m seeing proper improvement in my fitness and because I’m not in the classroom all the time my dyslexia isn’t a barrier in the way it was at school. It’s still early days but I feel like I’ve made a good start and I feel more confident on the whole.”

“Even though I did well in my GCSEs, I hated school, it stressed me out, and there were days when I struggled to get out of bed and go in. It wasn’t easy to think about my future career. At home, it was just me, mum and 10 cats! So when I told her about going down the military route she was quite sceptical but they eventually came round to the idea because of the future job security and income it could potentially offer me.
When I was younger I had anemia and I felt let down by my body. The early days at the college were quite daunting, having to match the men in the physicals. That’s one of the reasons I took up boxing, to give myself a better chance.”
Seren, MPCT Cardiff
