MPCT Parent Testimonial

“I first met Carolyn Tasker through my work in Employment Solutions. She passed by and dropped off some leaflets, and we had a wonderful chat, which eventually led to Carolyn attending some of the sessions we run at Reach for 16-24-year-olds who are NEET. During this time, my son, Lucas, was struggling in sixth form to the point where he wanted to leave school. I suggested he search for apprenticeships online, and to my surprise, Lucas found an apprenticeship with the RAF in cyber security. The very next day, I reached out to Carolyn for help and guidance on Lucas’s next steps.

MPCT kindly invited us to visit their college and tour the facilities. Lucas immediately knew this was the place where he could get the training he needed to pursue a career in the RAF. A few weeks later, Lucas left sixth form and started at MPCT, and I had never seen him so passionate about anything before. He had transformed from a young man who spent most of his time alone in his room on his PC, with little interest in exercise, to someone with a clear purpose and direction, all thanks to the support of MPCT who believed in him and his potential.

On March 11th, Lucas began his basic training at RAF Halton, and he’s thriving. As a parent, I was initially worried that the training would be too harsh and punishing, but Lucas is loving it. I can’t thank MPCT enough for all the support they’ve given him. I wholeheartedly recommend MPCT to anyone aged 16-19 who is considering joining the forces. It gives you a real insight into what life will be like, builds the fitness you need, and most importantly, supports you through the often lengthy application process.

Once again, thank you to everyone at MPCT—you’ve made a real difference in our lives. I’ll always look back on the day Carolyn Tasker stopped by just to drop off some leaflets, and I’m so grateful for what it led to.”
