Motivation & Learning Trust Charity Gala Dinner a huge success!

The Motivation & Learning Trust held its Annual Gala Dinner on Saturday 18th May 2019 in the Ricoh Suite at Cardiff City Football Stadium. We were privileged to have present our Patron, Lieutenant General Tyrone Urch CBE, who is General Officer Commanding Home Command. Together with senior military officers and Capita representatives, they attended to support and raise funds for the MLT.

In a separate ceremony, General Urch co-signed the Armed Forces Covenant with Ricoh UK, represented by Mr Jason Trinder, the Regional Manager.

Some past and present MPCT Learners gave testimonials on how they had benefited from the Charity and Pete Leak, the Regional Operations Manager for Wales, outlined his plans to complete 15 arduous events to raise funds for the Charity in the coming year. It was interesting to note that he appears to have only entered events that contain the words crazy, mad, extreme, ultra or “in one day”!

Both the raffle and auction were well supported and we must thank Ricoh UK, Audi Cardiff, Chepstow Racecourse, LouLou Boutique, Wedge Galvanising, Catnic, Celtic Manor, Lexus Cardiff, Fine Wines Direct, Huw Lewis MBE and other Trustees, or MPCT employees, who donated items. We would also like to thank Capita for assisting with some of the overheads. Huw Moores, MPCT’s Head of Communications and himself a MLT Trustee, was a brilliant MC for the event supporting Jayne James, our auctioneer for the evening.

Many MPCT staff gave their valuable time in supporting the event and we thank everyone as ever for their support.

The counting continues. However, as a rough estimate, we believe we have raised £9,000. This sum raised will go towards supporting the 4 day Battlefield tour to France and Belgium for 90 MPCT Learners in October of this year.
