Mike Ronan joined MPCT as the Regional Operations Manager (South) in October 2015. He joined the Army in 1986 and retired in April 2015 as a Late Entry Major.
Mike specialised as an Instructor and advisor on Infantry Weapons with the Small Arms School Corps in 1994 having transferred from the Royal Irish Rangers. Selected to be a commissioned officer from the ranks, he filled a series of increasingly demanding senior and middle management roles, including; Chief of Staff on operations in Afghanistan, SO2 training at a BMATT in the Czech Republic, Corps Adjutant for the SASC, Officer Commanding at the Infantry Battle School, Training Officer at an Army recruit training college and Exchange Officer with the Australian Defence Force. He deployed overseas to Germany, Canada, Northern Ireland, Lebanon, Cyprus, Australia, Afghanistan, Czech Republic, Serbia, Kosovo, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
On retirement, Mike took employment as a Senior Consultant, providing training and management consultancy services in the Safety Critical Sector and is also currently serving as the Reserves Training Major with 7 RIFLES.
Served 5 Years in the Princess of Wales Royal Regiment from the age of 19. During The 5 years’ service in the Infantry I became a section commander and Warrior driver. I completed 2 tours of Kosovo and took part in the foot and mouth containment and commanded a green Goddess in Northern Ireland during the Fireman Strikes. After my Military Service I went onto work 7 years In Iraq as a Private Security Contractor.

Served 4 years in the Royal Corps of Signals as a Radio Systems Operator. Based in Germany and served a tour of Iraq with 7th Armoured Brigade HQ (The Desert Rats).

I Enjoyed my time with the 1st battalion PWRR from 2000 to 2006 where i gained valuable military and life experience, which i will now be passing on to young learners. I also like staying fit which is a big part of MPCT.
